La Brea has already been renewed by NBC for season 2. That’s right, NBC has shown a huge amount of faith in La Brea as the network renewed the series for a second season on November 12th after just seven episodes had aired.
La Brea arrived on our screens as one of NBC’s new additions for the 2021/22 TV season. The disaster drama, which sees a sinkhole emerge from the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles is quite the departure from the crime and medical dramas that often fill the TV schedules.
With production now underway on Season 2, again in Australia, NBC’s La Brea has confirmed the promotion of two actors to series regular status. As reported by our sister site Deadline, both Tonantzin Carmelo and Michelle Vergara Moore have been upped to seres regular for Season 2, in the respective roles of Paara and Ella.
The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 38% approval rating with an average rating of 5.4/10, based on 16 critic reviews. The website’s critics consensus reads, “There may be method to its madness, but La Brea simply doesn’t commit to its insane premise hard enough to shake out a show worth watching—at least not yet.”
Who is the girl in La Brea?
Airing on the NBC television network, the La Brea TV show stars Natalie Zea, Eoin Macken, Jon Seda, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chiké Okonkwo, Karina Logue, Zyra Gorecki, Jack Martin, Veronica St. Clair, Rohan Mirchandaney, Lily Santiago, Josh McKenzie, and Chloe De Los Santos. The story begins as a massive sinkhole opens up in the middle of Los Angeles, swallowing cars and buildings and separating the Harris family between two worlds. Mom Eve (Zea), teenage son Josh (Martin), and others fall into an unexplainable primeval land. On the surface, searching for answers, there’s teen daughter Izzy (Gorecki) and Gavin (Macken), her father who has a troubled past. When Gavin realizes his visions might just be the key to finding their loved ones, time will be the only thing that stands in their way.

In addition, the surname of the family has been changed to Harris. On March 22, 2021, Nicholas Gonzalez and Rohan Mirchandaney joined the cast as series regulars.
