Police have identified the driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt that overturned just after 5 a.m as Tara King
on February 21 on I-95 near Route 355 in Rockville as Tera King, 18, of Woodbridge.
According to investigators, King was traveling eastbound on I-495 when, for an apparent reason, she drove off the right side of the road, crashed into a tree and embankment.
Montgomery County EMS personnel declared King dead at the site, and a 20-year-old passenger was taken by ambulance to Suburban Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The accident’s cause is still being looked into.
Investigators with the Maryland State Police at the Rockville station have requested anyone with knowledge on the fatal occurrence or the circumstances leading up to the tragedy to get in touch.
