I graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in May 2006 with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies and was inducted into Pi Alpha, the National Honor Society for Physician Assistants. While in school, I was a member of the Class of 2006 Leadership Committee.
After graduation, I worked as a PA in the ER at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center for one year to gain experience and have exposure to managing a variety of patients. I was employed with Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital from October 2007-October 2015 as a surgical Physician Assistant, first in Trauma/General/Vascular Surgery until 2014, then in Orthopaedic Surgery. During that time, I also worked part time with Emergency Physicians of Tidewater to maintain my skills in all areas of medicine, and continue treating patients with a variety of medical concerns outside of my specialty.
Several years ago I stepped away from inpatient care to work in outpatient Psychiatry, a growing field for Physician Assistants. I currently work at Restoration Recovery Center near Town Center in Virginia Beach, providing medication management for Psychiatric and Substance Abuse patients. I’m a certified Buprenorphine Practitioner.
I am also a Community Faculty Member for EVMS, and have been an established preceptor with them since 2009. I was named Preceptor of the year in 2010.
