Five months after Steve said he wouldn’t be participating in Pulp’s reunion, the news has shocked fans.

The band paid tribute to “their cherished buddy” as Katie expressed her shock and devastation over Steve’s passing.

The stylist Katie said on Instagram: “We are surprised and saddened to have bid goodbye to my brilliant, beautiful husband, Steve Mackey. After three months in the hospital, battling with all his power and determination.

Marley Mackey has been identified as one of his children.

He recorded and mixed the “Black Metal” album by Dean Blunt in 2014, and he started working with Yak in 2015 to record their song “No,” which was released on Third Man. He mixed Danny Goffey’s “Take Your Jacket Off and Get into It” Album for Supergrass.

He collaborated with Yaks to record “Alas Salvation,” which was released at the beginning of 2016.
