Born on December 13, 1966, to the loving embrace of Marvin and Louise Hartman (Bish) in Bryan, Ohio, Troy was destined to be a beacon of inspiration. His journey led him through the corridors of Bryan High School, where he graduated in 1985, and onwards to Indiana Wesleyan University, where he earned a distinguished bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Troy’s professional odyssey was deeply intertwined with Sweetwater Sound, where he dedicated 29 years of his life, ascending the ranks to become the esteemed Senior Vice President of Sales. His dedication and leadership were a cornerstone of the company’s success.

On September 13, 1992, Troy merged his fate with that of his beloved Michelle Slagle, embracing the bond of marriage in their hometown of Bryan, OH. Music flowed through Troy’s blood, kindling his spirit. Troy’s passion complemented his involvement in worship teams nicely. He was a master of numerous instruments, including trumpet, piano, bass guitar, and drums.

His “Cow Tips” provided both wisdom and fun in sales sessions.

Troy’s magnetic personality forged connections wherever he wandered, leaving an indelible impact on countless lives. Rooted in faith, family, and friends, he shared the light of Jesus with all he encountered. Even in the realm of sports, his fervent support for THE Ohio State Buckeyes was renowned, adding a spirited dimension to his friendly rivalry with Buckeye buddy Delvin and Michigan buddy Tom.

Alongside his parents, Troy’s journey is survived by his cherished wife of three decades, Michelle Hartman, and his siblings Lyle (Lanai) Hartman, Brad (Mary) Hartman, and Ketra (Chris) Grindrod, as well as a vast extended family and a circle of dear friends.

During visiting hours on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at The Chapel, 2505 W Hamilton Road S, Fort Wayne, IN 46814, the embrace of pleasant memories and genuine reflections will converge. A moving memorial service to celebrate Troy Hartman’s life will be held in the church on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., with a one-hour visitation preceding the service. The ceremony will be officiated by Pastor Brandon Holler. Flowers are welcome and may be delivered to the church on Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn, Indiana, will be Troy’s last resting place, echoing his long legacy.
