Russell McDowell Intermediate Principal Pam Wright has died, the school district announced on Tuesday
“It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to a remarkable individual who dedicated her entire career to the betterment of education in the Russell Independent School system,” wrote Superintendent Dr. Sean Horne and Beth Westenhofer, Russell McDowell’s assistant principal in a letter addressed to “Russell family.”
“Pam’s impact on the Russell Independent community is immeasurable,” the letter read.
Wright served as an elementary teacher, assistant principal at Russell High and principal at Russell Primary before taking on the role as Russell-McDowell’s leader.
“Her unwavering commitment to the students and staff over her 26 1/2 years of service exemplifies her dedication to shaping young minds and fostering a positive learning environment,” stated the letter.
Wright was a mother to Nicole, Kacee and Tanner, all Russell graduates, and her stepdaughter, Andrea. She was married to Mike Wright. Pam Wright was also a grandmother, known as “Mimi.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time,” Horne and Westenhofer wrote.
According to the letter, Wright’s passion for education extended to her role as a curriculum specialist.
