Queen mother of Offinso Traditional Area has initiated a court process against Asantehene over the Offinso Chieftaincy issue.
Queen mother of Offinso Traditional Area has dragged the Asantehene to court over his rejection of Dr KK Sarpong as Offinsohene.
The Queen mother, Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko and the Offinso Traditional Council unanimously nominated Dr KK Sarpong as the heir to the Offinso Stole but he was rejected by the Asantehene.
This caused a group of Offinso people backed by a retired teacher to hold a press conference to tell Asantehene that Offinso stole is a paramount stool and the queen mother is solely responsible for choosing a paramount chief.
The Asantehene was angered by the press conference and sent a warning that he will not allow someone’s whose isn’t the rightful heir be the chief.
The press conference allegedly backed by K.K Sarpong was the catalyst for Otumfuo’s anger.

He referenced them to history where the lineage of Dr KK Sarpong were banned from ever sitting on the stool by one time queen mother whom they tried to poison.
Despite the rejection of Dr KK Sarpong by the Asantehene, the Offinso Queen mother camp insists Dr KK Sarpong is their choice.
They have taken the case to court.
