A Jackson man was killed Wednesday morning when he was hit by one car while he was in the roadway, then struck by another.
Rescue crews were called at 7:13 a.m. Nov. 2, for a reported crash involving a pedestrian in the area of Ann Arbor and Munith roads in Leoni Township, according to the Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety.
Police arrived and discovered the 35-year-old Jackson man had been struck by two vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The initial investigation determined a vehicle, driven by a 40-year-old Leoni Township woman, was entering Ann Arbor Road from Munith Road when she struck the man, police said.
Shortly after the man was struck while in the roadway, he was stuck again by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Leoni Township woman, police said.
The man is not being identified at this time.
The Blackman-Leoni Public Safety Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash and will forward its investigation to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office for review once completed.
