Missing Ebony Owens Shot and Killed By Her Husband; Remains Yet To Be Found

Authorities in Mississippi have not yet found Ebony Owens’s corpse, who was 36 years old.

The investigation into the disappearance of a 36-year-old woman in Mississippi has now been transformed into a murder investigation, with her husband emerging as the main suspect, according to officials there.

According to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones, Ebony Owens’ family reported the mother of four missing on March 15 after she didn’t show up for work.

The spouse of Owens, Michael Owens, was also declared to be wanted by the sheriff for questioning in relation to the disappearance of his wife. After being located and being questioned by officials, Michael was charged with murder and arson hours later, according to WAPT.

It’s unclear at this time whether Michael has submitted a plea or hired a lawyer.

The sheriff posted on Facebook that investigators are looking for Ebony’s body at the Big Black River on Old Highway 80 between the borders of Hinds and Warren Counties because they think she was shot and killed.

Electronic evidence, according to the sheriff, indicated that Ebony was last seen in the Clinton region on Tuesday night. Clinton is about 18 miles east of Ebony’s residence in Edwards, where officers were called to a welfare check on Wednesday. Additionally, her car was nowhere to be located.
