At 6:42 p.m. on January 11, 2023, the Washington Communications Center first received calls from witnesses reporting gunshots and two people who appeared injured in Best Western’s parking lot at 2621 East Fifth Street.
Police officers from the Washington Missouri Police Department rushed to the scene and discovered a male subject who had been badly shot once and a girl who had been judged to have died from several gunshot wounds.
The male suspect received treatment from emergency responders before being sent to a nearby hospital. The patient, a guy, is still in a hospital and is in a serious but stable state.
