Makinzlee Handrahan Obituary, Christmas Day Homicide

Authorities in Maine have determined that  Makinzlee Handrahan a 3-year-old girl’s homicide on Christmas Day.

The Maine Department of Public Safety said that Makinzlee Handrahan was pronounced dead on Sunday after the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department had been called to an Edgecomb house earlier in the day over a report of a kid who was not breathing.

As is customary in Maine with every child death, the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit became engaged in the investigation, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Following an examination on Monday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta determined that Handrahan’s death was a homicide. The Attorney General’s Office had already ordered that the girl’s cause and method of death be kept secret, but the Department of Public Safety did not specify why.

According to a police representative, detectives are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the toddler’s death.
