Chicago Rapper Makado 600 Found Dead in Cell – What Led to His Death?
Reports have emerged about the passing of Chicago rapper Makado 600, who was incarcerated due to his involvement in a double murder case. While the rapper’s death is confirmed, the exact cause remains undisclosed at this time.
Makado 600, whose real name was Makavelle Sampson, faced charges related to the double homicide of two women. The news of his death circulated on social media, with @ChicagoScene88, a Twitter page, sharing the tragic update:
“Damn… Rest in peace Makado (600). He was found dead in his cell. He was fighting a double homicide. He has been one of 600’s front figures since the beginning of the drill era.”
Reddit user u/kaaaamen provided additional information, stating that Sampson was sentenced on August 14. Initially facing gun charges, Sampson later faced murder charges and entered a not guilty plea in February to a total of 12 felony counts. According to u/TheDForFree, another Reddit user, Sampson received a prison sentence of 26 years.
The case dates back to 2017 when Juliet Washington and Jeanine Dowell lost their lives. Both victims were 41 and 32 years old at the time of their passing. Prosecutors alleged that Sampson and his accomplice, Kevin Brown, approached Washington’s vehicle at an intersection in Chicago. Armed with handguns, Sampson reportedly fired 14 shots at Washington, a mother of two, while Brown fired eight shots at Dowell, a mother of three. The two assailants were apprehended after a witness followed their vehicle.
Additionally, DNA evidence recovered from one of the doors of Washington’s vehicle matched both Brown and Sampson, further implicating them. Surveillance footage also played a role in their arrest. During a court hearing, it was revealed that Sampson had made 15 calls to a person facing aggravated battery charges related to one of the victims, Dowell. This person was ultimately convicted as well.

The motive behind the double murder remains unknown, and despite overwhelming evidence, no motive was provided by the defendant, Brown. Washington worked as a mail carrier and was a Woodridge native, while Dowell was affectionately nicknamed “Ms. MakeItHappen” by her family for her unwavering commitment to meeting their needs.
