The Vanier family’s:
It would be three things at once to refer to Jack Vanier as the founding father of a bygone rural Kansas culture.
Jack saw this as an opportunity to react in his trademark unpretentious manner, complete with that bright smile, that he was simply doing what came naturally.
It would also present Jack with a wonderful opportunity to criticize the notion that something was “bygone” in his modest, low-key manner.
On Friday, March 3, at 1 PM, a funeral service will be place at Christ Cathedral in Salina, Kansas. The Salina Community Foundation and the Meadowlark Hills Good Samaritan Fund in Manhattan are two organizations the family proposes as recipients of memorial gifts.
