American journalist Jackie Burke has passed away. She died on the last day of February 2022, at the age of 62.
Jackie had been in the showbiz industry for four decades, before her shocking demise.
A graduate of Newbury Park High School and the USC School of Journalism, Jackie started her 40-year career at Entertainment Tonight in 1981.
She moved to the Turner Entertainment Report and CNN entertainment news to executive produce E! News Daily’s weekend show.
She also worked red carpets for the TV Guide Channel, the Los Angeles Lakers, the KTLA Morning News, and ABC’s The Bachelorette, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

Jackie Burke died on February 28, 2022, in Los Angeles after a two-year battle with cancer, according to her friend Karen Stevens.
In a press statement, Karen said: “Jackie was the only Black person in the room for years, even before they had Black talent. She never sought the spotlight and forged a phenomenal career. She never saw herself as a trailblazer, but looking back, I think she was.”

It is unclear if Jackie was married or had children. She is survived by her mother, Eddie; brothers Ken and Keith; and seven nieces and nephews.
