A 15-year-old equestrian named Hannah Serfass passed away in Florida on Sunday. At Fox Lea Farms near Venice, the teenager competed in a jumping event.
She experienced a “rotational fall,” which the United States Equestrian Federation claims was “unrelated to a jumping effort.”
The athlete was certified deceased after being carried by EMS to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Hannah Serfass was operating Quaxx 2, a 12-year-old Holsteiner, at the time of the incident, according to the USEF.

When the horse stumbled, the equestrian was halfway through, according to police officers who spoke with news representatives. The child then tumbled and fell from the animal.
