Kylee Ortiz, 23, passed away on Sunday at a nearby hospital after telling authorities that her husband, Jordan Ortiz, had strangled her a few days before.
Authorities announced Monday that a woman from Lancaster County passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, days after being admitted for treatment of wounds acquired when she was strangled by her husband.
Kylee Ortiz, 23, was brought to Lancaster General Hospital early on Thursday morning with serious injuries, and on Friday she was moved to the facility’s intensive care unit.
Before she was put on an Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine to treat a blood infection that physicians claimed was the result of a strangulation, she was questioned by police.
Ortiz reported to police on Sunday, April 2, that she had been strangled by her husband, Jordan, during a domestic dispute at their Lancaster Township residence.
She arrived at Lancaster General Hospital for treatment for the first time on April 3 after staff members noticed she had a hoarse voice. When she was admitted on Thursday, she went back to the hospital.
