It is with profound sadness that the family of Erika Marie Martinez announces her passing on May 19th at the age of 24 years old.
Erika is survived by her mother Anna Marie, brother Michael, and father Del Don. Erika is predeceased by maternal grandparents Santos and Mike Arredondo, paternal grandparents Mary and Delfino Martinez, and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles. She will be dearly missed by her friends, near and far, and her co-workers and customers at Longhorn Steak house.
Our daughter Erika was a bright, beautiful, amazing woman who lit up a room with her smile. Erika loved living in Austin, and she especially enjoyed paddle boarding, hiking, attending festivals, or hanging by the pool with her family and friends. Erika was a graduate of Anderson High School. She was currently attending Austin community college with plans to attend Texas State University in the hopes of entering the nursing field.
Erika was a loving and generous person in life, and in death she continued to keep giving. She gave the most precious gift anyone could give; she gave her organs to save countless lives.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th Street, Austin, Texas 78702 at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday: June 15, 2022. Reception to follow immediately after in the parish hall.
