It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the unexpected passing of Erica Delgado, a cherished alumna of the University of Michigan and a former twirler. Erica, who resided in Los Angeles, California, was declared deceased by the U-Mich Band Alumni Association (UMBAA) on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. During this challenging time, our thoughts and prayers go out to her friends, family, and the entire community.

The cause of Erica Delgado’s passing remains undisclosed, as her family has chosen not to provide any details. In this period of uncertainty, it is vital for us to demonstrate patience and empathy. Respecting the family’s wishes and offering them the space they need is of utmost importance.

Erica consistently set high standards, both on and off the field. She was more than just a talented twirler; she was a delight to watch due to her authenticity, kindness, and warmth.

Without Erica’s contributions, my college experience and time with the band would not have been the same.

She was the perfect guide to Los Angeles and always made an effort to stay positive and welcoming, even in challenging times. Her upbeat spirit and outgoing nature during past Homecomings will forever be cherished memories.
