On 10/18/2022, Kennewick detectives were alerted that Elias Salazar, the victim in this case, a 17-year-old male teenager, died as a consequence of his wounds. According to the investigation, other friends were part in the incident and possessed a gun. A 14-year-old boy who was handling the gun unintentionally shot Elias.The previously jailed 14-year-old male juvenile will now face Manslaughter 2nd Degree charges. Officers arrived and discovered a young victim with a single gunshot wound. Officers provided prompt assistance until medics arrived. The Kennewick Fire Department transferred the victim to a nearby hospital. The victim’s injury is being addressed at the moment. A person has been arrested. The person was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
