Dr. Zeena Dorai, MD – Baltimore, MD

Dr. Zeena Dorai, Chief of Neurosurgery at Medstar Union memorial and Good Samaritan Hospitals, is a Board Certified neurosurgeon with advanced training in brain and spinal tumors. She has office locations in Baltimore, Pikesville and Westminster.

Dr. Dorai earned her degree in medicine from the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. While in medical school, she was a member of the Alpha-Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Hobart Amory Hare Honor Medical Society. She then completed a general surgery internship and her neurosurgical residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Tx.

Dr. Dorai went on to complete a board-certified fellowship in neurosurgical oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Tx, specializing in the surgical treatment of brain and spinal tumors.

She has authored articles and chapters in spine reconstruction, brain tumors and neurovascular neurosurgery, including articles in the Journal of Neurosurgery, and Youman’s Textbook of Neurosurgery. She has given numerous presentations and served as faculty for practical neurosurgical courses at national neurosurgical meetings. Dr. Dorai is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, including the Tumor section.

Dr. Dorai is the Chief of Neurosurgery at Union Memorial Hospital. She also maintains active clinical privileges at Carroll Hospital Center, Sinai Hospital, St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins. Dr. Dorai’s special clinical interests include degenerative spine disease, brain tumors and surgery for hydrocephalus. She is trained in CyberKnife radiosurgery.

Dr. Dorai has been selected by her peers as a “Top Doctor” in Baltimore magazine.
