Dr. Patrick Swier, MD – Lewes, DE

I am a board certified Plastic and
Reconstructive Plastic surgeon who after graduating from Johns Hopkins University integrated program did a cosmetic preceptorship with Oscar Ramirez for 6 months followed by a Peripheral Nerve fellowship with Dr A Lee Dellon, for 12 months in Baltimore.
I started a community plastic surgery practice in Lewes Delaware in 2002, in which I have practiced the full scope of plastic surgery and served the community for 19 years, doing hand surgery, trauma, wound care, breast reconstruction, general oncology reconstructions, facial reconstruction following Mohs surgery and cosmetic surgery. The last few years, I have added Mohs surgery training to my skill set and see skin cancer patients on the beach in Delaware. As my career has evolved, I am seeing more skin cancer and cosmetic patients and am trying to find ways to continue see hand, trauma and breast reconstruction patients and serve my community. In that same spirit, I started volunteering in the ICU, to prepare for and help with the Covid19 surge. It has been a honour and a humbling experience to relearn from the dedicated infectious disease specialist, the intensive care doctors, the pharmacist, the other volunteers and work with the nurses and pa’s in this battle. For me, while I had to think about potentially exposing my children and my wife and taking the risk at my age of 56, it is the essence of being a surgeon, a physician and a human being.
