He completed residency at the prestigious NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, where he received the REICHER Award for Excellence in Basic Science Research, and was an American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons’ Charles S. Neer Award nominee.
He completed his subspecialty fellowship training in sports medicine surgery and arthroscopy at the world-renowned Rothman Orthopaedic Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, where he received the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society Sports Medicine Fellow Award, and provided the orthopaedic care for professional and collegiate athletes, including Philadelphia’s Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, and 76ers, as well as Villanova University Athletics.
Dr. Liu is an orthopaedic surgeon at Carle Health in Urbana-Champaign, IL. He serves as an Assistant Professor at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. He specializes in advanced operative and nonoperative orthopaedic sports medicine, reconstructive surgery for the shoulder, hip, and knee, and orthopedic trauma. He is experienced in sports medicine surgery, total shoulder, hip, and knee replacement surgery, and minimally invasive shoulder, hip, and knee surgeries.
