Donald West was an American pitchman, television personality, and wrestling broadcaster best known for his work as a commentator on Impact Wrestling.
West previously hosted the Shop at Home Network. West rose to prominence in the 1990s for his loud, energetic, abrasive sales pitches on late-night television, as well as his blunt obvious observations and persuasive style.
Don West got his start in television shopping when he applied for a job as the host of Sports Collectibles, a sports memorabilia show on the Shop at Home Network.
He was rejected despite his degree in sports broadcasting (and the fact that his brother Dale was the chief financial officer of the Shop at Home Network).
West began selling knives on television in 1991, and in March 1993, he was finally hired by the Shop at Home Network for which he had applied. Sales increased from $3 million to $150 million between 1993 and 2001.
In addition to sports memorabilia, West promoted Beanie Babies and Pokémon collectibles.
