My brother Bryan DeYoung passed away suddenly, which has completely thrown our lives into disarray.
He was a wonderful father to Thomas and Catherine DeYoung, a wonderful son to Elinor DeYoung, and he was a wonderful uncle to Josh DeYoung in addition to being a wonderful mentor to him.
It does not appear to be real even now. Bryan had such a strong desire to experience everything that life has to offer and he did so with a lot of zeal.
My heart breaks for her because it has been so amazing to watch him discover love again with Margaret Simpson Crooks, but at the same time it makes me happy for her. Because they lost both of their parents at such a young age, Thomas and Catherine have been forced to endure so much more than anyone should have to go through. Bryan was a man of faith, and I have no doubt that he is looking down on us from Heaven right now with a sense of pride as he sees the lives he touched having been changed as a result of his influence.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has shown concern for me and my family. I am grateful to Christine DeYoung for her assistance, particularly during this process. I have cried until I feel like I cannot cry anymore, but here come the tears again.
I have cried until I think I cannot cry any more. I am so happy that you are my brother, and although we shall all miss you, we will make sure that your legacy lives on.
You put up a valiant effort in this conflict. You never put anything else before your family. I think about you often, but I know that we shall meet again.
Please say some prayers for Catherine, Thomas, Margaret, and for all of us, including mom. More than ever, we are in desperate need of your prayers
