Around 2:30 a.m., a shooting took place in southwest Atlanta close to Benjamin E. Mays High School, leaving a 16-year-old girl dead and a 16-year-old male in need of medical attention.
According to Atlanta Police, a dispute occurred during a graduation celebration in the school’s parking lot before the shooting.
The young woman was discovered on the scene and taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she was later declared dead. The 16-year-old boy was also taken to a hospital by ambulance and is reportedly doing well. He has not been named, and it is unclear what his exact condition is.

At this moment, no one has been detained, and the police have not disclosed any details about a potential suspect.
