Austin Willette Dies in Motorcycle Accident, Austin Willette Obituary & Funeral

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash involving two other vehicles in Salem.

The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday on Main Street.

Police said a Jeep driven by a 30-year-old from Haverhill, Massachusetts, was heading east when it crossed into the westbound lanes and hit a Toyota driven by a 65-year-old from Salem. That collision caused the Toyota to go off the road and left the Jeep sideways in the westbound lane before it struck a motorcycle operated by Austin Willette, 24, of Methuen, Massachusetts, according to police.

Willette was flown to a Boston area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died of the injuries on Wednesday, police said.

Main Street was closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Salem police at 603-893-1911.

Family members told WMUR that they are holding an online fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses.
