Adam E. Peck Death , Pedestrian Struck by a Bicycle at Illinois State University’ Dies

An ex-SFA administrator was seriously hurt in a bicycle-versus-pedestrian accident at Illinois State University on Monday. Released by the Illinois State University Police and the McLean County Coroner’s Office, his death occurred on Friday morning. At 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Adam E. Peck, 49, of Bloomington, was strolling in a plaza area at Illinois State University when he was hit by a bicycle, according to investigators. His death at 11:06 a.m. on Friday at Carle BroMenn Medical Center was reported by sister station WEEK.

According to the statement, Peck’s family believes he saved many lives through organ donation.

ISU President Terri Goss Kinzy announced Peck’s appointment as a vice president for student affairs in an email to the campus community.

Before becoming provost, Peck served as an assistant vice president at SFA. After graduating from SFA in 2020, he moved on to take a job at ISU in the new year.

According to Kinzy, he was a devoted student affairs worker who enjoyed widespread esteem among students, faculty, and staff.

Adam “was a tremendous person, friend, and colleague to all of us,” said ISU Vice President for Student Affairs Levester Johnson.
