Jamaican Actor Winston ‘Bello’ Bell, better known as half of the talented comedy team Bello and Blakka, passed away on Saturday After struggling with health issues.
Bishop Winston Alexander Bell “passed away on April 15, 2023 due to complications from Neuropathy,” his Facebook profile stated with much sadness.
Peripheral neuropathy is the umbrella term for a group of disorders caused by dysfunctions in the body’s large peripheral nerve system, which relays information between the brain and the rest of the body.
The Jamaican actor Bell had a 45-year career in the theater, and his most notable appearances were in Third World Cop, One Love, First Black Britons, Glory to Gloriana, and Ghett’a Life.
Along with Owen ‘Blakka’ Ellis, he is one half of the comic duo Bello & Blakka.
He was deeply in love with the woman he married in May 1995, but sadly, Joy Bell passed away before he did.
In 1975, while Bello was a first-year student at Camperdown High School, he discovered his passion for acting. His childhood was spent in the neighborhoods of Jones Town and McGregor Gully, but he was born in Cockburn Pen in Kingston. He became a Christian in 1979 while studying at the Jamaica School of Drama, and he has since dedicated his life to serving God and others via the ministries of His Time Out for Jesus Worldwide Ministry and the Joy Bell Foundation.
